KCR Demands Forty Percent Share

Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao tried hard to explain the actual position of Telangana in revenue generation following bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking before the 14th Finance Commission and urged it to recommend higher share in taxes collected by the center.

In addition to that LCR requested Finance commission to recommend for more aid from the central government. In this meeting he demanded them to provide forty percent share in revenues to overcome bifurcation issues. He also sought assigning weightages judiciously to better performing States and relaxation in FRBM norms to newly formed States such as Telangana.

KCR assured his support for GST tax methodology and urged adequate compensatory mechanism for incurring revenue loss. He suggested finance commission to keep petroleum and liquor out of the GST.
