2,000 for Aagadu: Is it a Publicity Stunt?
None of the Telugu flicks have been released in 2,000 odd screens till date. Mahesh Babu starrer 'Aagadu' is gonna achieve this feat if the claims of the makers are to be believed. They say Partnership with EROS which is a leading distribution firm does the trick.
Eros International Managing Director Sunil Lulla says, "We are very excited to once again join hands with 14 Reels and Mahesh Babu for this film. With its hugely popular star cast, compelling screenplay and high octane entertainment, we are confident Aagadu will recreate the magic of Mahesh Babu-Srinu Vaitla combination".
Analysts say, 2,000 screens for 'Aagadu' mayn't be a reality as films like 'Power' and 'Anukshanam' are releasing in 850 and 400-plus screens respectively. Of course, 14 Reels-EROS deal will help the film fetch nearly 50 extra screens each in North circuit and Overseas. At best, 'Aagadu' might make it to 1,500 mark.
