Bapu's funeral to be held at Chennai

Veteran director Bapu passed away on Sunday evening at his residence in Chennai following a cardiac arrest at the age of 80.

Bapu's last rites will be held at Chennai itself. He will be cremated on Tuesday morning at Besant Nagar, Chennai. Several Tollywood and Kollywood celebrities are expected to pay their respects to the veteran on Monday.

Bapu was born in the year 1933 and spent childhood in Narsapur in West Godavari. His first film 'Sakshi' released in the year 1960. Films like Mutyala Muggu, Mister Pellam, Pelli Pusthakam and Seetha Kalyanam have remained as classics. An ardent devotee of Lord Rama, Baou made films Sampoorna Ramayanam, Ramanjeneya Yuddam and Sri Ram Rajyam. In career spanning 40 years, Bapu directed 51 films and won National awards for Muthyala Muggu and Mr Pellam. He will be missed forever. RIP Bapu!
