IT Raids on Ex-MLA Relative, Rs 390 crore cash caught!

Income Tax Department had conducted has raided Ameya Builders, Swastik Group and its partner Rajiv Patel. Raids were conducted at 50 places and Rs 5.5 crore cash & jewellery were seized.

IT Officials say, Its a case of land dealings and money laundering. Not paying taxes, About Rs 390 crore has been amassed by these people. Using a trust run by them, They have procured land for educational purposes and later changed the user status to amass huge wealth.

Rajiv Patel is a first mayor of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation and a close relative of former MLA Hitendra Thakur.

IT sleuths opine this case is an eye-opener for them as raids haven't be conducted at this area since the past decade.
