Shweta Basu Prasad, born on January 11, 1991, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, is a versatile Indian actress celebrated for her work across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Bengali cinema, as well as television and OTT platforms. She began as a child artist, making her movie debut in 2002 with Vishal Bhardwaj's horror-comedy Makdee, where she played the dual roles of Chunni and Munni, earning the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Her breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed Iqbal (2005) as Khadija, winning Best Supporting Actress at the Karachi International Film Festival and multiple nominations.

Transitioning to adult roles, she debuted in Telugu cinema with Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008) and appeared in films like The Tashkent Files (2019), Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019), India Lockdown (2022), and OTT hits including Serious Men, High, Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, Jubilee, and Maharani Season 4 (2025). She has also directed the short film Retake and produced documentaries like Roots on Indian classical music.

The enchanting photo captures Shweta's vibrant ethnic charm in a bohemian look: a delicate white lace crop top paired with a colorful, multi-hued printed skirt featuring purple, pink, and teal stripes. Adorned with long wavy hair, statement jewelry including a layered necklace, bangles, and rings, she poses confidently against a striking black-and-white striped wall with floral accents, exuding natural beauty, poise, and cultural elegance in the warm indoor light.

As of January 2026, her upcoming projects include two films, additional series, and the release of her directorial short Retake. With her selective approach and multifaceted talents, she remains a respected figure in Indian entertainment.
