Zanjeer lands in legal problem again
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Aug 2013 2:29 PM ISTA case has been filed by Businessman Prince Tuli against 'Zanjeer' makers accusing that his swanky bike has been used by director Apoorva Lakhia in the 'Mumbai Ka Mero' song without his consent after borrowing it from him as a friendly gesture.
Actually, Amit Mehra, Sumeet Mehra and Puneet Mehra are the sons of Prakash Mehra who produced Amitabh Bachchan's 'Zanjeer'. Amit Mehra has struck a deal with his brothers Sumeet and Puneet for remaking 'Zanjeer' along with Prince Tuli. However, Amit failed to pay the promised amount to his brothers for giving him the ownership of the remake rights and the two had stalled the release by approaching court. In the out of court settlement, Prince Tuli and Amit Mehra walked out of the venture, permitting Suneet and Puneet to be producers of 'Zanjeer' in partnership with Relaince Entertainment Pvt.Ltd. To everyone's surprise, Tuli and Amit has decided now to harass the current producers by stalling the release in some way or the other.
Director Apoorva Lakhia reacted strongly to the legal notice by saying few people can stoop to such a low for vested interests. "Some people think Zanjeer is a buffet spread. Take what you want? Ridiculous," he told, by clarifying Amit Mehra was acting as the producer of the film when the song 'Mumbai Ka Mero' was shot and it was he who have arranged the bike for shooting.
