YSRCP Becomes Recognized Party in Telangana
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Jun 2014 5:44 PM ISTElection Commission of India (ECI) has recognized YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy as a regional party in Telangana. With this YSRCP became the third recognized regional party in the newly formed state.Till now, there are only two regional parties (Telugu Desam Party, Telangana Rashtra Samiti) in the state. Now YSRCP joined the list as the third one.
The Commission’s Under Secretary Pramod Kumar Sharma has informed this in a communication to the party. According to them Central Election Commission has taken the decision based on the party’s performance in the recent elections.
With this, Fan symbol has been allocated as a permanent one for all the members who will be contesting from the party. YSRCP leaders thanked election commission after the official statement was announced.
After taking stand of Samaikhyandra YSRCP managed to win three MLA and 1 MP seat in Telangana.Lot of speculations are being made that YSRCP MLA's or MP's can change the party without re-elections as the party has been a registered one but not a recognized party so far.With this, the anti-defection law applies to YSRCP too and any MP or MLA can be disqualified if he or she changes a party.
It’s worth to mention that the party recently recognized by EC in Andhra Pradesh state where it won 67 MLA and 8 MP seats. Following the recognition granted to the party, the ‘Fan’ symbol will becomes the permanent symbol for YSRCP party.
