Telangana gets whopping IT software revenue
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 July 2014 8:43 AM GMTIn what we call a major boost for IT sector in Telangana the revenue of software exports reached a record Rs 57000 crore this year, an increase of Rs 8000 crore over the previous year.(2012-13). The statistics reported by the STPI (Software Technology Parks of India ) which is a government agency in India, established in 1991 under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, that manages the Software Technology Park scheme.
The development commissioner of SEZ says that the exports have been 14% more than previous year and employment generated was around 323691.
‘’Software exports from Telangana are estimated to be Rs 57,000 crore for 2013-14. The IT and ITES services grew by more than 14 per cent during the last year," the statement said.
The communiqué said that the numbers do not include domestic software sales and electronic hardware industry figures.As the threat poses from its neighboring telugu state, the Telangana government is taking all necessary precautions to attract the software investors.
Reacting to the wide-spread reports that most of the companies are moving out of Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana state Panchayati Raj and Information Technology Minister K. Taraka Ramarao denied the reports and he made it clear that Hyderabad continues to be destination for IT industry
He said that Hyderabad-based IT companies would not only continue their operations, but would make further investments for expansion and upgradation of existing units. He said new areas of Telangana would be developed as IT hubs and the prestigious Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) region would be completed. He promised that the TRS Government proposes to create 15 lakh direct and 35 lakh indirect jobs in the next five years through IT.
