Techies join Police Constable training

Techies might be feeling that its better to do something rather than being job less. Nearly 10 percent of 12,000 constables who are currently undergoing training in Police Training Centres across the state are B.Tech graduates. About 50 percent of these 12,000 constables are graduates and all of them would complete their training in October 2013.
Experts say, these graduates are queuing up for constable jobs as they lack the skills for engineering jobs and they were preferring to become constables as the minimum qualification required is intermediate.
Out of 2 lakh engineering graduates who are churned out from colleges, only 10 percent of them are employable. This is because majority of the colleges lack standards and they were just aiming at securing funds from the government through the fee reimbursement scheme. This situation is leading to the rise of more unemployment in the state.
