T Government earns Rs 934 crore in One Shot

Telangana Government earned a licence fee of Rs 934 crore from the sale of 2,023 notified liquor shops out of 2,216 through a lottery system. Out of the 193 which went unsold, There were no applications filed for 172 liquor outlets and 21 others have been disqualified for getting more than one
shop in the draw.
Notably, All the 21 rejected applicants were in the highest slab with a license fee of Rs 90 lakh in GHMC limits (14 in Hyderabad, 5 in Ranga Reddy).
Rs 934 crore licence fee collected pertained to one year. The shop holders have to pay 1/3rd amount immediately and has to furnish bank guaranteed for the remaining amount.
