River tragedy: Attempt to Retrieve Footwear cost Srinidhi her life

She could have been in survival list if she didn’t get back to the river for footwear .Here is the tragic story of a young girl who lost her life in the river tragedy.Dasari Srinidhi is one of the 24 students of VNR Vignana Jyoti Engineering College in Hyderabad, who were swept away in the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh.
According to her parents Sreenidhi gets back into the River looking for her missing footwear when the swirling waters washed away her.
Srinidhi, who was posing for photographs along with the other students standing in the river, initially managed to escape but in the attempt she lost her footwear and again get back to the river and it proved fatal for her.
Srindhi is a resident of Dwarakanagar and studying second year engineering course. Srinidhi, the second of her parents’ two daughters, had recently came to native to attend the engagement of her elder sister, who was scheduled to be married on August 4.
Other side HP government has announced a compensation of Rs 1.5 Lakh to the victims’ families of river tragedy. Three officials, including site engineer, have been suspended by the government and launched a probe into the issue.
