KCR Congrats to Sakshi Cartoonist

Sakshi's cartoonist Pamarthy Shankar achieved a rare honor.He bagged the first prize for his caricature in the prestigious Grand Pix World Press Cartoon 2014.The Portugal award which was considered cartoonist's Nobel award was given to him for his caricature of legendary Nelson Mandela that was published on December 6, 2013.
Shankar hails from Nagireddypalli in Nalgonda.He won several national and international prizes in caricature contents both nationally and internationally. The uniqueness of his cartoons and caricatures is not in drawing the attention of viewers by nagging or mocking but instead through charm and exaggeration of the subject person’s prominent features.
He is the first Asian to win the prestigious prize. Shanakr would be given a cash prize of Euros 10000 at a ceremony to be organised in November in Portugal.Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao congratulated Sankar for getting an international award.
