KCR and Chandrababu steps in for help on Himachal Mishap

It is learnt that altogether 38 students from VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, were on the riverbank when the water level rose after discharge from a reservoir.A sudden release from the reservoir of the Larji dam led to a surge in the water level in the river which is feared to have swept away the students.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and anguish over the incident. Mr Naidu has requested the Himachal Pradesh government to expedite relief and rescue operations.
He spoke to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister over phone and asked him to immediately direct the officials to help the students.Telangana Chief Minister KCR too expressed shock and deep anguish over the incident. He has rushed a team, headed by the Home Minister, to Himachal Pradesh to take stock of the situation.A massive search operation was launched to track the students, but there was no success due to darkness.
Darkness and strong river currents hampered search operations during night, but was resumed this morning at 5 am. According to authorities, chances of them being found alive are very slim. The focus of the operation now is to find the bodies.
