Amma wins by-poll by a Record Margin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa won the RK Nagar by-election with a record margin of 1,51, 252 votes.
Only AIADMK and CPI have contested RK Nagar by-poll as most of the Opposition Parties including DMK decided to save their energy and money because the victory of Jayalalithaa is certain.
By the end of 15th round, Jayalalithaa leads with 1.46 votes and CPI candidate C Mahendran secured just 8,875 votes. AIADMK even managed to bag all the 16 postal votes.
By the end of last and 17th Round, Jaya secured 1,60,921 votes and CPI Candidate got 9,669. Total NOTA votes were around 1,000.
Jayalalitha thanked voters and party workers for the overwhelming support. She termed her victory as a precursor to Assembly polls.
