Domestic violence: Heroine ends 30 year married life

Gorgeous diva of yester generation, actress Rati Agnihotri decided to put an end for 30 years marriage by divorcing her husband Anil Virwani, owing to domestic violence. Rati Agnihotri on March 14 filed a complaint with police in Mumbai accusing her husband of domestic violence and intimidation.
Rati Agnihotri, who married Anil Virwani in 1985 filed complaint against him saying he had mentally tortured her besides assaulting her physically.But the actress chooses to keep mum on the reason for divorce.
Finally, Rati had chosen to speak before media on domestic sufferings within the four walls.|
“After the latest violence, I could not stay in the same house. I am badly hurt in the last beating. I don’t have strength to fight. I stuck on to the marriage for my son’s sake,' Rati Agnihotri told. Rati Agnihotri encouraged many other victims of domestic violence to come forward and speak before media.
She also starred in Telugu films and made 32 films in just three years. Some of her noted appearances includes Andala Raasi; Mayadari Krishnudu and PunnamI nagu. She played Naagulu's cousin Laxmi(Rati Agnihotri) in Chiru film Punnami naagu.
