Director threatened Heroine
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Oct 2013 3:07 AM GMTActress Nazriya Nazim lodged a complaint against her film 'Naiyaandi' director Sargunan with the Police Commissioner alleging that he threatened her and pledged to bring disrespect to the Muslim community.
The issue began when the director shot few intimate scenes with a body double as Nazriya refused to shoot such sequences. When Nazriya questioned the director, he threatened her of dire consequences apart from refusing to remove the dupe scenes.
Here is the excerpts of the complaint given by Nazriya:
From Nazriya Nazim, Pandits Colony, F-19, H-block, Opp to Nirmala Bhavan School, Devasumboard, Kowdiyar, Trivandrum – 659 003
To The Commissioner of Police Egmore, Chennai
Dear Sir,
I am the film actress who has acted in NAYANDI Tamil film, due to release on Oct 11th 2013.
I hail from a respected Muslim family from Trivandrum, Kerala. I have done good and decent roles in both Tamil and Malayalam films.
This complaint is regarding a shot which I did not participate but it has been included in the recently released trailer over You-Tube featuring the body portion of some unknown artistes and inserted in the middle of the song as a continuation of shots, as if the same was acted by me.
During the film making I had refused to act the scene, since I was not comfortable and in the interest of family and community which I belong.
After much arbitration the producer and director had agreed to do away with the shot and finished the song with other required shots.
Once the Trailer was released over YouTube I was shocked and surprised that the shot was included as an enactment by some unknown actress whose body portion was shown, as if the same was acted by me.
I called the Director Sargunan and asked him why he did so. He abused me, threatened me and my family and vowed that he would bring disrespect to my Muslim Community willfully. He also warned me against giving a complaint to your good self and the CM’s office.
I called the producer Mr. Kathiresan but he refused to answer calls and willfully avoided my calls.
Now, I am worried that there could be such similar shots added in the movie as I have not been shown the preview.
Since the film is slated for release on October 11th, I would request you to insist them to show me the movie and if they refuse, stop the release of the film, as thousands of my fans, friends, relatives have raised objections to the shots.
Please help me, my family and my community.
Thanking you.
