In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking the removal of people with alleged criminal background from becoming ministers at the Centre or states. The apex court leaves it to the wisdom of the Prime Minister and Chief ministers whether to appoint people with criminal background or not

According to reports in total 13 states out of 194, 44 ministers were facing criminal charges .In union cabinet 12 were facing the criminal charges against them.Surprisingly Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu have also having criminal cases against.

Telangana has the maximum 90 percent ministers involved in criminal cases followed by Andhra Pradesh with 56 percent, Karnataka 34 percent and Odisha 27 percent.In terms of serious criminal cases, Telangana again leads with 80 percent of its ministers, followed by Rajasthan with 25 percent and Andhra Pradesh with 22 percent.Telangana ministers Harish Rao;Eetel aRajendar and Jagadeeswar reddy facing murder charges

Two BJP minister facing Murder allegations on Rajasthan and one of the minister was booked under same in Odishha.Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim are the states where no minister has a criminal case against him.
