Bad news for Beer lovers.You need to think twice before buying a beer as the prices may soar up in coming days and especially in residuary Andhra Pradesh.Post bifurcation beer price was noy yet fixed in Andhra Pradesh and they are continuing the price which was decided on Common state
As compared to other states Beer price was less in AP and breweries companies asking Government to review the prices lest warned with stopping production from Dussehra festival.Owing to large number of breweries in Telangana, it is AP's prime supplier of beer and its production cost is said to be lower than other southern states. Telangana accounted for 62% beer consumption in undivided AP
Compare to other states Ts and AP paying less amount for breweries' companies.For instance for a 12 bottle case TS govt paying 235 rs where as other stated paying more compare to the price of TS govt(Karnataka 465;Tamilnadu 335;Kerlaa 325)
Manufacturers say the demand to increase prices was made last June when contracts expired. Though the contract was extended for a year, prices were not increased.
Beer companies warning govt to increase the price otherwise warned that they will stop production.If it happens demand will be more and price will increase for sure.
According to breweries' owners, proposals were sent to the governments to increase the basic price of a 12-bottle case of strong beer from the present Rs 235 to Rs 296, which in turn would escalate MRP by Rs 10 per bottle.
Not only that Beer price will increase in AP compare to Telangana government.The government will get an additional revenue of Rs 600 crore on beer alone and the total increase in the revenue because of the adjustments will be around Rs 800 crore.
