Born on 29 September 1993 in Chandigarh, Wamiqa began as a child artist with a small role in the Hindi film Jab We Met (2007). She made her lead debut in the Hindi film Sixteen (2013) and established herself in Punjabi cinema with hits like Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, the Nikka Zaildar series, and Kali Jotta. She expanded into South Indian cinema with Telugu’s Bhale Manchi Roju (2015), Tamil’s Maalai Naerathu Mayakkam (2016), and Malayalam’s Godha (2017).
Critical acclaim followed with OTT roles in Jubilee (2023) and Khufiya (Filmfare OTT Award). Recent successes include Baby John (2024), Bhool Chuk Maaf (2025), Bhooth Bangla, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, and the Tamil film DC (2026) as Chandra. Upcoming projects feature Prahaar, Goodachari 2 (Telugu), Genie, Tiki Taka, and a role in Jai Hanuman.
