Sophie recently revealed how her first experiences in Bollywood weren’t as dreamy as one might expect. In a conversation with Hauterrfly, she explained that despite her fame as a singer, stepping into films wasn’t easy. She mentioned how she and her mother didn’t quite understand the "adjustments" people subtly demanded from newcomers. Some individuals were welcoming, but others made uncomfortable suggestions. Sophie’s mother now jokes about it, but at the time, it was confusing and troubling for them.

She also talked about walking away from major opportunities because she refused to give in to inappropriate demands. Sophie shared that there was a disturbing assumption in the industry that women from abroad were “easy,” which led to her facing prejudice and unfair expectations.
