Sonal Chauhan rose to fame after winning Femina Miss India World Tourism in 2005. She made her acting debut in 2008 with the Hindi film Jannat opposite Emraan Hashmi and the Telugu film Rainbow. Over the years she has worked across Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil cinema in films such as Legend, Size Zero, Dictator, The Ghost, and Adipurush.

Recently she appeared in Dard (2024) and made her Punjabi debut with Shera (2026). She is currently gaining attention for her role as Mumtaz Bibi in Mirzapur: The Movie (2026), continuing to expand her versatile career across industries.
