Born on June 2, 1987, in Mumbai, Sonakshi is the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha. She made her acting debut in 2010 with the blockbuster Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She went on to star in major hits like Rowdy Rathore, Dabangg 2, Holiday, Lootera, Mission Mangal, and Ittefaq.

Sonakshi has showcased her versatility with critically acclaimed performances in the web series Dahaad (2023) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi (2024).

Her upcoming projects include Nikita Roy (2025), Jatadhara (Telugu, November 2025), and the Prime Video courtroom drama series System (2026) with Jyothika, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. She continues to be one of Bollywood’s most loved and versatile actresses.
