Shweta Basu Prasad made her acting debut as a child artist in the 2002 Telugu film Kondaveeti Simhasanam. She gained national recognition with her breakthrough role in the 2005 Hindi film Iqbal, playing the sister of the lead character, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Her transition to lead roles came with films like Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008) in Telugu.

She has delivered acclaimed performances in Makdee (2002), Varanasi (2006), and critically appreciated roles in The Blue Umbrella (2005) and Rakta Charitra (2010). Shweta has worked across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Bengali cinema, showcasing her versatility in both commercial and arthouse films. Her notable works include Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and several web series.

With a career spanning over two decades, Shweta continues to take on meaningful projects while maintaining a strong presence in regional cinema. Her journey from child prodigy to accomplished actress remains inspiring.
