In this serene photograph, Shweta Basu Prasad is deeply immersed in her creative world, wrapped in a vibrant lime-green outfit while focused on an abstract painting on a yellow canvas. With paint on her fingers and a contemplative expression, she captures the essence of artistic silence. Her caption reads: “Painting abstract lately.. ‘Everything starts from silence,’ the Indian artist Vasudeo Santu Gaitonde (1924-2001) once said. ‘The silence of the brush, the silence of the canvas, the silence of the painting knife. The painter starts by absorbing all these silences... No one part of you is working there. Your entire being is.’” Photo @wtfvaze.

Born on January 11, 1991, Shweta Basu Prasad is a National Award-winning Indian actress celebrated for her versatility across Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema, as well as web series. She began as a child artist on television and made her film debut at age 11 in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Makdee (2002), earning the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her dual role. Her breakthrough as a lead came with Iqbal (2005), followed by notable performances in Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Ride, The Tashkent Files, Serious Men, Jubilee, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She has also explored direction with the short film Retake (2023) and continues to balance acting with passions like painting, classical music, and yoga.

In 2025-2026, she appeared in Oops Ab Kya?, Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, and Maharani Season 4. Her upcoming projects include the Telugu film Vijeta (October 2026) and the Kannada film Devravne Budu Guru (September 2026).
