Shruti Haasan Reflects On Being Single And Her Thoughts About Marriage

Actress-Singer-Musician Shruti Haasan recently opened up about her views on marriage, relationships, and her current phase of life during a podcast appearance with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. Shruti is generally known for her straight-forward talk with no masks. In this podcast, she shared her personal insights about love, marriage and individuality.

Speaking about her current relationship status, Shruti revealed that she is single and happy with it. She added that she loves her the most right now. “I am petrified by the idea of marriage. I have no fear in saying that. I have worked so hard in my life to be my own person that the idea of attaching it to a piece of paper feels really scary to me. That's it. But I believe in commitment, and I believe in loyalty, and I believe in all those things marriage is supposed to represent. I can do that on my own, and I don’t need a piece of paper,” she said.

Opening up about the breakup she went through last year, Shruti said, “I love having someone, and I would love to have cuddles every day. That’s a big journey, to be on my own truly, which is a big personal change of last year.” She also said that she would love to become a mother, but she never wants to remain a single mother. "If you can work towards having two parents, that would be great,” she said.

Shruti also explained how relationships these days are often coming through are often shaped by loneliness rather than finding compatibility. She stated, “How many times do we want a partner because we are feeling lonely? And how many times do we want them just because we have the space to incorporate them as a value addition into our lives?... What I am working on is solitude, not calling it loneliness.”

Shruti Haasan is currently prepping for the release of her upcoming film Coolie, which is set to hit the theatres on August 14. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this action-thriller features Superstar Rajinikanth as the lead hero. Shruti is essaying a pivotal role in the film.
