Daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti made her acting debut with the Bollywood film Luck (2009) opposite Imran Khan. She marked her South Indian entry with Telugu fantasy Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011) and Tamil sci-fi 7 Aum Arivu (2011), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her breakthrough came with the romantic drama 3 (2012) and the blockbuster Gabbar Singh (2012).

She has delivered memorable performances in hits like Race Gurram, Srimanthudu, Premam, Krack, Waltair Veerayya, and the pan-India sensation Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023). In 2025, she starred as Preethi in Rajinikanth’s action entertainer Coolie.

As of 2026, Shruti is back in action with upcoming projects including Aakasamlo Oka Tara (opposite Dulquer Salmaan, summer 2026 release), Salaar: Part 2, and her Hollywood debut in the psychological thriller The Eye. A talented singer and musician too, she continues to shine across languages with versatility and strength.
