Daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti (born January 28, 1986) began as a child artist and singer. She made her adult acting debut with the Hindi film Luck (2009). Her breakthrough came in 2011 with dual South debuts — Telugu film Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Tamil film 7 Aum Arivu — winning her the Filmfare Best Female Debut – South award. She has since delivered powerhouse performances in hits like Gabbar Singh, Srimanthudu, Krack, Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Veerayya, and the massive Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023) opposite Prabhas.
Recently seen in Coolie (2025) with Rajinikanth, Shruti’s upcoming slate is packed: Train (with Vijay Sethupathi), pan-India drama Aakasamlo Oka Tara opposite Dulquer Salmaan (Summer 2026), Salaar Part 2, and her Hollywood debut in the psychological thriller The Eye.Unconventional, talented, and fiercely independent — Shruti Haasan continues to redefine stardom on her own terms.
