Actor Shama Sikander recently shared a mesmerizing photo on Instagram, where she looked thoughtful while holding a delicate pink rose. Her caption read:

Recently, Shama opened up on Debina Bonnerjee’s podcast, revealing a tough period in her life. “I had bipolar disorder. You get very snappy. These are suppressed issues which should have been addressed healthily,” she said. Shama bravely spoke about how she used to feel emotionally numb and how depression created a world that she mistakenly believed would protect her. “Depression was a world I had created to save me. It made me numb,” she added.

She also spoke about feeling unhappy with the industry she was once a part of. “I was very depressed and I didn’t like the industry. I didn’t like the people here. I didn’t like the way everyone was so selfish, self-centered. First I went through the pain.” At one point, things became so dark that she tried to take her own life. “I tried to die by suicide but I came back. I was rushed to the hospital. My hands were tied up and when I saw, I thought this can’t be heaven.”
