Born on 4 August 1981 in Makrana, Rajasthan, Shama began her career young. She made her film debut at 16 in Feroz Khan’s Prem Aggan (1998) as Pooja, opposite Fardeen Khan. She followed with a supporting role in Aamir Khan’s Mann (1999) and appeared in films such as Ansh: The Deadly Part (2002), Chand Bujh Gaya (2005), Dhoom Dadakka (2008), and later Bypass Road (2019).

Her major breakthrough came on television with the popular Sony series Yeh Meri Life Hai (2003–2005), where she played the relatable Pooja Mehta and earned awards including the Indian Television Academy’s GR8! Face of the Year. She also featured in Seven and as the memorable Byankar Pari in Baal Veer.

In the digital space, she took on bold roles in the short film Sexaholic (2016) and Vikram Bhatt’s web series Maaya: Slave of Her Desires (2017), while launching her production banner with Ab Dil Ki Sunn. Married since 2022, Shama has adopted a more selective approach in recent years, focusing on occasional music videos, personal projects, and her production work rather than frequent on-screen appearances.
