Ritika Singh first became popular with the movie Guru (2017), where she starred opposite Venkatesh. She played the role of a fierce boxer and impressed the audience with her performance and dedication. The film was a remake of her Tamil debut Irudhi Suttru, in which she acted with R. Madhavan. Her role won her a National Award Special Mention, which is a big achievement for any actress.

Though her performance in Guru made a strong impact, Ritika did not receive many big offers in Telugu films afterward. However, she continued acting in Tamil films like Oh My Kadavule and Kolai.
