Born on October 10, 1990, in New Delhi, Rakul began as a model and won several titles at the Femina Miss India pageant. She made her acting debut with the Kannada film Gilli (2009). Her breakthrough came in Telugu cinema with hits like Venkatadri Express (2013), Loukyam (2014), Nannaku Prematho (2016), and Sarrainodu (2016). She made her Bollywood debut with Yaariyan (2014) and gained wider recognition with De De Pyaar De (2019).

Over the years, she has balanced South Indian and Hindi films, showcasing versatility in romance, action, and comedy. Recent releases include Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025).
