Born on 10 October 1990 in New Delhi, Rakul made her acting debut in the Kannada film Gilli (2009). She rose to fame in Telugu cinema with Venkatadri Express, Loukyam, Nannaku Prematho, Sarrainodu and Dhruva. Her Bollywood breakthrough came with Yaariyan (2014), followed by the hit De De Pyaar De (2019).

Recent films include Runway 34, Doctor G, Ayalaan, Indian 2, Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025) and De De Pyaar De 2. Upcoming projects feature Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (2026) and the role of Shurpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Married to producer Jackky Bhagnani, Rakul continues to shine across industries with grace and versatility.
