In a captivating recent photograph, Raai Laxmi radiates bold elegance. Dressed in a sleek black blazer with dramatic feathered sleeves and a plunging neckline, her long, wavy dark hair frames her face as warm golden light highlights her striking features and confident gaze. The image perfectly captures her signature glamorous style that has defined much of her screen presence.

Born Lakshmi Rai on May 5, 1989, in Bangalore, Karnataka, Raai Laxmi began her career as a model before making her acting debut in 2005 with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara. She simultaneously entered Kannada cinema with Valmiki. Early roles in Tamil films like Kundakka Mandakka and Dharmapuri soon led to success in Malayalam, where she starred opposite Mohanlal in Rock n’ Roll (2007) and Evidam Swargamanu (2009), and opposite Mammootty in Chattambinadu.

Her career flourished across languages with notable performances in Tamil hits such as Kanchana (2011), Mankatha (2011), and Aranmanai (2014). She entered Hindi cinema with Akira (2016) and took the lead in Julie 2 (2017), later appearing in a special song in Bholaa (2023). Recent works include the Malayalam thriller DNA (2024), where she played IPS officer Rachel Punnoose, and Janata Bar (2025).

As of 2026, ongoing projects include Wolf, Anandha Bhairavi, and Rowdy Baby, showcasing her continued selective approach to diverse roles after two decades in the industry.
