Sun, Sand, and Serenity: Raai Laxmi’s Soulful Escape to the Maldives

Raai Laxmi was born on May 5, 1989, in Bangalore. She is a model and actress who mainly works in South Indian films. She began her career in modeling and advertisements before moving to cinema. She made her acting debut in 2005 with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara.

In an interview, she once shared her passion. She said, “I have developed some kind of obsession towards arts, be it dancing, stage shows, or even modeling. It's always my habit to carry my photos, to be precise, my portfolio since I used to do modeling. The minute he saw my portfolio, Mr. Udaykumar who was searching for a new face for his film Karka Kasadara signed me up.”

Her first major success came in 2008. She acted in Velli Thirai and Dhaam Dhoom. Her role as a lawyer in Dhaam Dhoom earned her a Filmfare nomination. She later delivered many hits in Tamil and Malayalam films. Movies like Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam, Kanchana, Mangatha, and Aranmanai made her one of the leading stars in South Indian cinema.
