When Priya Prakash Varrier Got Emotional Over AI Prank

Actress Priya Prakash Varrier recently shared a photo on Instagram that quickly went viral. She is seen dressed in a traditional white saree with a golden border from @jaanki-_sarees-_, she stood in a serene water setting, looking effortlessly graceful. The look was completed with makeup by @sreegeshvasan-_makeupartist and photography by @a-_isography. Her caption in Malayalam, “അവളുടെ കണ്ണുകളിലെ അമ്പുകൾ…” (translating to “the arrows in her eyes…”) paired with a lotus emoji.

While Priya continues to win hearts online, she recently found herself at the center of an emotional moment at a Chennai event. During an app launch, host VJ Bhavana played a video that appeared to show actor Vijay praising her performance in Good Bad Ugly and requesting a dance. Moved to tears, Priya asked, “Is this true? Please play it again.” Moments later, it was revealed the video was AI-generated. Shaken, Priya responded, “This is too much… it's really wrong.”

The prank drew sharp criticism from netizens, who felt that misleading someone using AI especially a young actress like Priya was insensitive. Despite this, Priya’s performance in Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly is being widely appreciated especially her tribute to Simran’s iconic dance number.
