Poonam Bajwa is a talented actress known for her roles in South Indian films. Born and raised in Mumbai, she hails from a Punjabi family. Her journey into the entertainment industry began when she was crowned Miss Pune in 2005. This achievement propelled her into modeling, which she pursued part-time while completing her studies.

Poonam’s big break came when she was discovered by the renowned director Kuchipudi Venkat while working at a ramp show in Hyderabad. He offered her a significant role in the Telugu film "Modati Cinima" (2005). Eager to focus on her education first, she decided to take on the role after finishing her 12th-grade exams. Not only did she excel in her acting career, but she also pursued higher education, earning a degree in English Literature from Symbiosis International University in Pune.

In her career, Poonam has appeared in various films across different languages, including Malayalam and Tamil. She acted in the Malayalam movie "Zacharia Pothen Jeevichirippundu" and, in 2022, took on a notable role as Mathruppillil Kalyanikutty Amma, the Queen of Travancore, in the film "Pathonpatham Noottandu." She also acted as Kunjipaathu in "Mei Hoom Moosa" and was involved in the Tamil movie "Gurumoorthi" that year.
