Poonam Bajwa is a known face in the South Indian film industry. Born and raised in Mumbai in a Punjabi family, she made her mark in various regional films. Her career took off in 2006 when she played Pavani in the Telugu movie "Premante Inthe". Following this, she appeared in several other Telugu films, such as "Boss" alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni and "Parugu". The same year, she ventured into the Kannada film industry with the movie "Thangigagi".

Bajwa’s versatility shone through as she embraced roles in different languages. In the Malayalam film industry, she appeared in "Zacharia Pothen Jeevichirippundu". More recently, in 2022, she played the Queen of Travancore, Mathruppillil Kalyanikutty Amma, in Vinayan's "Pathonpatham Noottandu" and Kunjipaathu in "Mei Hoom Moosa". Additionally, her role in the Tamil movie "Gurumoorthi" showcased her acting prowess yet again.
