Born on 13 October 1990 in Mumbai, Pooja Hegde began as a model and second runner-up at Miss Universe India 2010. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Mugamoodi (2012). She rose to prominence in Telugu cinema with Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda (2014), followed by the blockbuster DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham (2017). Her Bollywood entry was Mohenjo Daro (2016).
Major successes include Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018), Maharshi (2019), Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020, SIIMA Best Actress), and Most Eligible Bachelor (2021). Recent and ongoing projects feature Deva and Retro (2025), Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Jana Nayagan (2026), Sri Sri, and Kanchana 4.
