The much-awaited film OG, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan, has become one of the most talked-about Indian films in recent times. Directed by Sujeeth and produced on a grand scale by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainments, the film features Pawan Kalyan in a powerful avatar as Ojas. The star-studded cast also includes Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Prakash Raj, Shriya Reddy, and Arjun Das, with music composed by Thaman. From day one, OG has carried sky-high expectations, and every glimpse released so far has only amplified the buzz. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on September 25, 2025, with audiences eagerly counting down the days.

On Sunday evening, a grand pre-release event was held at LB Stadium, Hyderabad, drawing an electrifying crowd of fans. The evening saw the presence of the entire cast, crew, and several stalwarts of the film industry. Thaman and his team elevated the atmosphere with a spectacular live performance. The biggest highlight, however, was Pawan Kalyan himself taking the stage to sing “Washi Yo Washi” — a track he recorded for the movie. Adding to the thrill, the OG trailer was unveiled exclusively at the event, sending fans into a frenzy.

Speaking at the event, Power Star Pawan Kalyan shared his heartfelt thoughts:

“I’ve never attended a film event in costume before, but for the first time, thanks to Sujeeth, I came here dressed as my character — only for the fans. Washi Yo Washi is actually a Japanese haiku. In the film, the hero tells the villain: ‘You are unreachable in the skies, but I will bring you down to earth.’ Through this haiku, the song captures the terrifying arrival of Oji.

I’m delighted to have acted alongside Emraan Hashmi. Back in the day, his Jhalak Dikhla Ja was a rage, and he’s such a brilliant actor.

Sujeeth is not just a director; he’s my hardcore fan. He once told me that during Johnny, he used to wear a headband just like mine. His passion for cinema brought him here. After Saaho, it was Trivikram garu who suggested to producer Danayya garu that I should work with Sujeeth, and that’s how this journey began. Sujeeth may narrate simply, but when he directs, his genius shines. This film doesn’t just have me as its star; it also has two more stars — director Sujeeth and music director Thaman. They both worked with madness and passion, pulling me into that same trance. Every part of this movie will entertain you.

Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa have created visuals that are nothing short of poetry. Priyanka Mohan looks like a classic heroine from the 80s. Though our portions are short, they are deeply emotional — the kind of moments that make you wish life could really be that way. Sujeeth has crafted a beautiful love story in such a brief time.

The last time I witnessed such energy was during Kushi. Today, I see the same energy for OG. Even though I stepped away from films for politics, you never left me. You gave me strength, and with that strength, I now fight for the people. But at heart, I remain a film lover. When I do cinema, I think only of cinema; when I do politics, I think only of politics. My only focus while making a film is to do justice to the director’s vision.

I don’t know Japanese, but I learned it for this movie. My heartfelt congratulations to Sujeeth’s direction team — they are outstanding. If I had a team like this when I directed films, maybe I wouldn’t have gone into politics. Thaman’s team also worked brilliantly. The rap in this film was performed by our Telugu artists. And when a Telugu man roars, the skies thunder. Shriya Reddy is a phenomenal actress — fierce and powerful. I promise I’ll work with her again in the future.”

Music director Thaman said:

“Sujeeth hasn’t made OG in an ordinary way. He’s going to show Power Star exactly how fans dream of seeing him. He dedicated two years of his life to this film, and I’m confident it will win every heart.”

Heroine Priyanka Arul Mohan added:
