Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forests and Environment of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Pawan Kalyan, visited the Musalamadugu Kumki Elephant Training Centre in Chittoor district. He reviewed the training and welfare of Kumki elephants brought from Karnataka to help control wild elephant incursions. The Deputy CM keenly observed their demonstrations, including how trained Kumkis manage wild elephants and safeguard human settlements. He personally fed the elephants jaggery and received their blessings.

Shri Pawan Kalyan inaugurated the newly developed Musalamadugu Elephant Camp and laid the foundation for an advanced solar fencing system designed to protect farmlands from elephant attacks. He also initiated a Miyawaki-style forest plantation, planting a gooseberry sapling to promote dense forest growth in limited areas.

Recognizing the commitment of the mahouts caring for the elephants, he personally awarded them ₹50,000 in appreciation.

Several top officials, including Forest Chief Secretary Shri Kanthilal Dande, District Collector Shri Sumit Kumar, and SP Shri Tushar Dudi, accompanied him during the visit.
