Actress Nikita Dutta is enjoying a new phase in her career with her upcoming film Jewel Thief, a heist thriller on Netflix. After playing a serious role in The Waking of a Nation, she now gets to live her Bollywood dream in a fun, old-style movie. Nikita says acting in a film with songs and drama reminded her of what made her fall in love with movies in the first place.

She shared that being part of a classic Bollywood story felt exciting because it allowed her to play the kind of roles she had imagined as a child. Nikita believes many actors today are losing their uniqueness and starting to look alike. She wants to keep her individuality and avoid blindly following beauty trends in the industry.

According to her, legendary actresses like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, and Aishwarya Rai stood out because of their unique personalities. She also admires Kareena Kapoor Khan, who she feels is one of the last actresses with true star quality. Nikita believes staying original is more important than fitting into industry molds.

Talking about work, Nikita agrees the entertainment industry is going through a transition. With the rise and changes in OTT platforms, both actors and producers are being more careful with their choices. However, she doesn’t think work has reduced. Instead, it’s just more selective now, and one has to pick the best from what’s available.
