Born on September 28, 1985, in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Mouni Roy first rose to fame on television. She debuted in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2006) and became a household name with the supernatural hit Naagin, playing dual roles as shape-shifting naagins.

She made her film debut in the Punjabi movie Hero Hitler in Love (2011). Her Bollywood breakthrough came with Gold (2018) opposite Akshay Kumar, earning a Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination. Standout roles followed in Romeo Akbar Walter, Made in China, and especially as the powerful Junoon in Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva (2022), which won her an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
