Born on 28 September 1985 in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Mouni rose to fame on television. She made her acting debut in 2006 with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Krishna Tulsi, later captivating audiences as Sati in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and the shape-shifting Shivanya in the hit series Naagin.

Her Bollywood debut came with the sports drama Gold (2018) opposite Akshay Kumar, earning a Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination. She impressed further as the fierce Junoon in Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva (2022), winning an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress. Recent credits include The Bhootnii (2025) and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (2026).
