Born on 4 August 1993 in Payyanur, Kerala, and raised in Mumbai, Malavika is the daughter of acclaimed cinematographer K. U. Mohanan. She studied Mass Media at Wilson College before entering films. She made her acting debut in the Malayalam romantic drama Pattam Pole (2013) opposite Dulquer Salmaan.
She earned critical praise for her role in Majid Majidi’s Hindi film Beyond the Clouds (2017) and appeared in The Great Father the same year. Expanding into Tamil cinema, she starred in Petta (2019) with Rajinikanth and Master (2021) with Vijay. Recent works include Christy (2023), Thangalaan (2024), and Yudhra (2024). Ongoing projects feature Hridayapoorvam (2025) opposite Mohanlal, her Telugu debut The Raja Saab (2026) with Prabhas, Sardar 2, and Pocket Novel. With versatile performances across languages, Malavika continues to rise as a prominent pan-Indian actress.
