Born on 4 August 1993 in Payyanur, Kerala, and raised in Mumbai as the daughter of cinematographer K. U. Mohanan, Malavika Mohanan debuted in the Malayalam romantic drama Pattam Pole (2013) opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She gained critical praise for her role as Tara in Majid Majidi’s Hindi film Beyond the Clouds (2017).

She went on to star in The Great Father (2017), made her Tamil debut in Petta (2019) with Rajinikanth, and delivered a notable performance as Charulatha in the blockbuster Master (2021) opposite Vijay. Other key films include Maaran (2022), Christy (2023), Thangalaan (2024) with Vikram, Yudhra (2024), and Hridayapoorvam (2025) opposite Mohanlal.Ongoing projects feature her Telugu debut in The RajaSaab (2026) with Prabhas, Sardar 2 (2026), Idhayam Murali (2026), and Pocket Novel (in production), showcasing her growing pan-Indian presence across languages.
