Born on 4 August 1993, Malavika is the daughter of acclaimed cinematographer K. U. Mohanan. She made her acting debut in the 2013 Malayalam romantic comedy Pattam Pole opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She earned critical praise for her role in Majid Majidi’s Hindi drama Beyond the Clouds (2017) and appeared in The Great Father the same year.

Her Tamil breakthrough came with Petta (2019) alongside Rajinikanth, followed by the blockbuster Master (2021) opposite Vijay, where she played Charulatha. Other notable films include Maaran (2022), Christy (2023), Thangalaan (2024) with Vikram, and the Hindi thriller Yudhra (2024). In 2025, she starred opposite Mohanlal in the successful Hridayapoorvam.

Ongoing projects include the Telugu film The RajaSaab (2026) with Prabhas, Sardar 2, and Pocket Novel directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.
