Daughter of renowned cinematographer K.U. Mohanan, Malavika made her acting debut in the 2013 Malayalam romantic drama Pattam Pole opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She gained wider recognition with her sensitive performance in Majid Majidi’s Hindi film Beyond the Clouds (2017). Over the years, she has delivered strong roles in films like The Great Father, Petta, Master (with Vijay), Thangalaan (with Vikram), Yudhra, and the critically appreciated Hridayapoorvam (2025) opposite Mohanlal, where her portrayal as Haritha was widely praised.

Currently, she is expanding her horizons with her Telugu debut in the Prabhas-starrer horror-comedy The Raja Saab (released January 2026). Her upcoming projects include the Tamil action thriller Sardar 2 with Karthi and Pocket Novel, a much-awaited collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi and director Thiagarajan Kumararaja.
