This milestone marks the launch of South India's inaugural Dolby Cinema at AMB Cinemas Kapali (opened in January 2026), a premium venture co-founded by Mahesh Babu in partnership with Asian Group, delivering immersive Dolby Vision and Atmos experiences.
Born into a film family (son of Krishna), Mahesh debuted as a child artist in Needa (1979) and made his lead debut with Rajakumarudu (1999), earning the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut. Breakthroughs came with Murari (2001), Okkadu (2003), Athadu (2005), and blockbusters like Pokiri (2006), Dookudu (2011), Srimanthudu (2015), Bharat Ane Nenu (2018), and Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020). Known as "Prince" and "Superstar," he has won multiple Nandi, Filmfare, and SIIMA Awards.
Currently, he is filming the epic action-adventure Varanasi (SS Rajamouli directorial, co-starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran), set for an April 2027 release, with shooting wrapping by mid-2026. He also has Jana Gana Mana (Puri Jagannadh) slated for late 2026.
