Jyoti Poorvaj (also known as Jyothi Rai or Jyothi Poorvaj), born on 23 February 1985 in Madikeri, Karnataka, is a versatile actress popular in Kannada and Telugu television and films. She began her career with Kannada and Telugu serials, gaining massive popularity with shows like Jogula (as surrogate mother Devaki) and Guppedantha Manasu (as Jagati), where her emotional depth made her a household name.

Her movie debut came in 2017 with the Tulu drama Madipu. She has since appeared in several Kannada films including Supplier Shankara, Dia (2020), Gandhada Gudi, Sitarama Kalyana, 99, and Jersey Number 10 (2023).

She is currently making waves with ambitious projects. Her major upcoming film is the sci-fi action thriller Killer (also known as KillR or Killer: Dream Girl), a female-centric film directed by Poorvaaj, where she plays a powerful central role.
