Hailing from a Punjabi family but rooted in South Indian entertainment, she initially rose to fame through television serials. Her TV journey began with Kannada shows like Kinnari, Mooru Gantu, and Jogula, where she portrayed compelling characters such as the surrogate mother Devaki. She made her Telugu small-screen debut in Guppedantha Manasu as Jagati, becoming a household name and a TRP booster.
Transitioning to films, Jyothi made her movie debut in 2017 with the Tulu drama Madipu, directed by Chethan Mundadi. This marked her entry into cinema, showcasing her acting depth beyond serials. She followed with notable Kannada roles in films like Supplier Shankara, Sitarama Kalyana, Gandhada Gudi, Dia (2020), 99, Jersey Number 10 (2023), and KA.
